#SHRMTech22 — My Takeaways from the conference.
𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭!
That’s what echos my head after coming back from the #SHRMTech22 conference earlier this week. It’s the same HR community that transformed the new work from home code overnight by embracing the technology; that has brought back joy building conversations & connections face to face at the largest HR Tech conference in India.
As part of the influencer squad, I got the opportunity to experience the event. Here’re my few key takeaways.
𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
OpenOffers stall at the expo was by far the most innovative solution for me (maybe I’m biased towards recruiting). The solution aims at tracking the candidate offers in an open network shared by multiple companies to reduce last-minute surprises. Loved the fact that they took the biggest challenge in TA, head-on. More on this later.
𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲
Saarathee CRM team showcased why Inclusion should not be a charity and can be a real business case. Again, loved the fact that they were bold and honest with their approach. The team presented amazing work they had done with the disabled talent to build employability. When will we have a job portal which can be accessed by this talent to be really inclusive to access the same opportunities?
𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐆𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝
Gopichand’s talk was refreshingly real and bow down to his humility. He spoke about a struggle to build his own academy, coaching in a country obsessed with cricket. 97% of players never make it to the top at national/global events and thus dealing with failures is key to rising. His talk came at the time India won the Thomas cup which is a milestone.
𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧!
SHRMTech event saw over 1500 participants coming together after 2 years of gap. The expo area was always buzzing with people huddling together, greeting each other and discovering new connections. The HR fraternity as a whole shared the bond & conversations to accelerate, and invest in the future.
For me personally, finding the energy in the community, leaders and so many known/unknown faces assured me that no virus can keep our human spirit down for so long. We’re here to thrive as a group to elevate & play the game — head on!
Big thanks to the SHRM India team, sponsors and everyone else to put on a brilliant show. We also saw SHRM India announcing 50 top HR social media influencers where I got a mention. It’s this circle that helps me to learn, connect & grow.
